Amazon Continues Investing in Charlotte Region | Adds More Facilities

Amazon recently announced its plans to bring three new facilities to the Charlotte area. The company revealed they will be bringing a new fulfillment center and two delivery stations, creating hundreds of new full-time jobs for the local area. The pay for full-time employees at the new facilities will be $15 plus a variety of day-one benefits.

The new fulfillment center will be located in Pineville at Carolina Logistics Park, a large industrial park being developed by Beacon Partners. Amazon’s fulfillment center is slated to be the largest building in the park occupying just a little more than 1 million square feet of building space. When it opens, hundreds of employees will work alongside innovative technologies to pick, pack and ship larger customer items like exercise equipment, mattresses, kayaks, grills and more.

Meanwhile, when it comes to the two new Charlotte delivery stations, one will be in southwest Charlotte on Beam Road, while the other will be at Old Statesville Road in north Charlotte. These new delivery stations will continue to power Amazon's last-mile delivery capabilities to speed up deliveries for customers in Charlotte. Currently, there are eight Amazon delivery stations in North Carolina, with two operating delivery stations in Charlotte.
